Besorah: The Good News

Welcome! We are talking besorah and euangelion today … what’s that you ask?

Long story, short … they mean good tidings or good news. In antiquity, besorahs were official proclamations issued to declare battles won, enemies defeated, kings ascended or kingdoms overtaken.

As we go through the narrative of the Old Testament, besorah evolved to mean proclamations of God’s triumph over God’s enemies. In the New Testament, euangelion describes the good news of the restoration we have available through Jesus’ sacrifice.

We hope you’ll join in the conversation via comments and sharing this video, as we chat about our role in besorah/euangelion as the church and what that looks like in our individual lives.
